-- Steve Adams, your Friendly Webmaster Another terrific night of music at Local Color Cafe! I could channel a notorious presidential candidate and say there must be something wrong with the local townsfolk for not coming to this show, but I'll just say that if you weren't there, you missed the best that these three talented songwriter/musicians have to offer. Be there next time! Ron Dometrovich is an incredible guitarist; I keep looking for the person behind him who's playing along. He's both Ferrante & Teicher playing the same guitar, weaving an intricate dance in one song and taking MeeMaw to the flea mall in another. I kept waiting for Mark Custer to get funny; instead he showed a different side of himself. He sang love songs inspired by his wife and daughters, a song in which he revealed his mother's last words, and a haunting ballad describing Cain lamenting the murder of Abel and later becoming the recipient of unmerited grace. Only Dan Farmer could write a song about a tornado that makes us laugh. I love listening to his voice singing about finding his place in God's kingdom, and about an astronaut who's in the wrong place and wants to go home. I wish that venue would have been packed to capacity for these musicians. Do yourselves a favor; check out the talented songwriters and musicians coming to our little town. Oh yeah, the food is really good, too |
